Our Tactical Overland Vehicle build
Looking to replace out aging Dodge Grand Caravan we set out to look a a vehicle that we could truly custom build and that could also serve as a bug-out vehicle. During the search we found a 2016 Jeep JK but that was out of our price range and it had issues as well. Discouraged I went back to looking and one day my co-worker mentioned I would look good in a Toyota FJ Cruiser, as fate would have it, I forgot the two letter designation and found a TJ instead. Later that night Vanita had found the Jeep now know as serious business at a dealership close by. Call it fate but we went to look at her and after a test drive we were hooked. The jeep had some serious rust issues that were hidden by carpet, paint and other issues. We decided to give her a complete rebuild but things got out of hand real quick and a trip up to a local 4WP store netted us a conversation about a guy who could do it and make our dream a reality.
Enter Mike and Wrangler Specialties:
We took the jeep up to Mike’s shop and had him give us a quote including upgrading to Dana 44 axles and he provided a reasonable quote and we chose him to do the rebuild. While it was in the shop we fell in love with the idea of Overlanding and decided to build a compact overland vehicle that also could serve as a grid down rolling camper should the need arise. Once we go her back from Mike we set out on building her into what you see today. Check out the specs to see more about Serious business and Some of her features.
